Frisco Miracle League Make Dreams Come True

The Miracle League of Frisco  is has been making the dreams of special needs children a reality!  If you attend  just one practice, game or award ceremony you will see how big the hearts of the members of this organization really are!  The smiles on the kids' faces while they take the fields and courts are priceless.  The Miracle League is changing lives one child, one game, and one team at a time!  Leagues are open to children in North Texas and beyond.  

The origin of the Miracle League is a classic story of If you build it they will come.  The idea of building a Miracle Field was presented to the city of Frisco in 2005 and was adopted with support from City Council and funds from Community Development Council.  With in 90 days, a group of community leaders quickly went to work and by recruiting and raising funds.  Finally on April 22, 2006 40 baseball players took the fiels!  

The goal of the MLF (Miracle League of Frisco) is provide opportunities to children with mental and physical disabliities to participate in organized sports, interact with each other, and build their skills in a variety of sports!  MLF serves children ages 5-18 regardless of their disabilities and is assigned a buddy who assists them during their game.  Every child gets a turn in the game! MLF will not turn a player away and will provide a variety of wayf for each child to participate. Parents also benefilt from MLF by being able to meet and socialize with other parents who are dealing with similar challenges of raising a child with special needs.  Freindships and relationships are formed among parents, children, and their buddies.  

Currently the MLF offers baseball, soccer, and bowling.  The inaugural season of basketball is tipping off this summer alonog with the track team in the fall.  Click here to get more information on upcoming events, activities, and volunteer opportunites.  Let's all go see a game and support a Miracle!!!!
